The Chair

Friday, December 7th, 2007

I’ve never had to learn how to sit in a chair before, but this Aeron chair is weird. Its not like you just plunk down and land in God’s Throne, the chair demands you sit in it just so, and woe be unto you if you decide to sit in it differently for it will punish you.

Of Chairs and the DMV

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

So I spent this morning at the DMV which was fun in its own special way. I’m trying to sell a van I inherited back in Mississippi. So today (after having sold the van and gotten the money FOR the van) I find out that I can’t sell the van until it is registered in my name, which costs $120. Then the person I sell it to will have to register it in their name, which costs $120. Fabulous. So I have to pay the NC-DOT $120 for the privilege of being a bridge between the original owner and the new one. Oh, and I can’t actually transfer it until they send me a North Carolina title which takes 2-3 weeks. So now the person who I sold it to is up a creek and probably won’t buy the god damned thing anway.

On the other hand, everybody at work just got Aeron chairs, so that’s kind of neat…

The tiles at work have stripes that go in alternate directions which makes me walk like one of those guys who have one foot sideways
